A Call to Artists – Rex Glass Case

When Rex built a building in Holly Springs, the Holly Springs Arts Council invited them to purchase work locally.  We were able to sell some pieces, with a small portion of the sale going to the HSAC and a majority of the money to the artist.

During the process, the staff at Rex fell in love with the glass display cases at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.  The idea of artist work being rotated in and out of the cases on a monthly basis was enticing.  Rex actually purchased a glass case for their building with the express use of the Arts Council.

Months later, the glass case has arrived!  We have completed installing artwork from two “friends” of the Holly Springs Arts Council.

Sandra A Wills is a multi-dimension artist known for her kiln-formed warm glass creations and jewelry designs. Before focusing on jewelry and glass, Sandra studied graphic design, and worked as a technical writer, editor, and documentation manager. Needing a break from the tech work, Sandra started designing and selling jewelry in 2005, then added a kiln plus glass creations to her offerings in 2008.

Brenda Priest works exclusively in pen & ink, focusing solely on architecture.  Each commissioned work is completely hand drawn.  Every individual line is crafted in a manor to represent form and texture. Light and shadow is also a series of lines. This unique way of sketching brings life to the structure and the landscape around it. As she works from a photograph, each detail is added as an important element of the overall composition.

Any “friend” of the Holly Springs Arts Council can be a featured artist.  Please email a few pictures of your work, we can get you scheduled!
